What is the CentralID?

The CentralID is an attempt to make a single userid work for a variety of computing services on Campus. It is currently being tested for use with the community.wvu.edu web hosting service for Student, Faculty and Staff.


What is the format of the userid's?

The CentralID userid is in the form of fml### where the f is the first letter of your first name, m is the first letter of your middle name if you have one, and the l is the first letter of your last name. The ### is a sequence number, based on how many other people have the same combination of initials.


What services use the CentralID?

How long is the CentralID good for?

As long as your are currently a full time student, faculty or staff member it will be valid. The day you withdraw,graduate, no longer enrolled in a future term or cease employment at WVU it will be disabled.


I forgot my password what do I do?

Call the OIT HelpDesk at 304-293-4444 ext 1, and request it be reset. You will need to provide your WVUID Number, date of birth and your userid. In the future we will set up a self help service to allow you to reset it with out contacting OIT.


How do I get my CentralID?

All you need to do is click on the link on the http://centralid.wvu.edu that says "Find out my CentralID"
